Frequent Heartburn Is
Annoying
Millions of people in the United States suffer from heartburn,
an annoying, painful condition. Some of these people suffer
from heartburn periodically while others suffer from frequent
heartburn. Some of those people with frequent heartburn have a
serious underlying condition that should be examined carefully.
All frequent heartburn is different as far as the amount of
discomfort. People look for different solutions to this
problem. There are syrups and tablets that can provide
temporary relief from the discomfort of intermittent or
frequent heartburn.
Frequent heartburn is like a burning pain that a person feels
which can be distressing. The pain seems to be centered around
the area of the heart or in the throat. Medical experts refer
to this condition as frequent heartburn if it occurs two or
more days in a week. Usually when the condition is referred to
as frequent heartburn, the pain that occurs is a serious
burning sensation, and the person affected feels the need to
take medicine to reduce or eliminate the pain. There is pain
with frequent heartburn, but this condition also causes other
problems for the patients.
Frequent Heartburn Can Be Treated Effectively
The people affected cannot enjoy a meal without the
interference of pain, get a good night’s sleep, concentrate on
work or enjoy social activities. This heartburn can be
troubling, but there is effective treatment for this condition.
Those with frequent heartburn should not just rely on the
tablets or syrups that can be bought without a prescription
before consulting with a physician. The underlying condition
should be determined before the treatment is started. If a
serious condition is ruled out, the physician will probably
recommend a series of steps for treatment of the heartburn.
The person suffering from heartburn can take certain steps to
alleviate the symptoms of the heartburn. The person suffering
can avoid spicy or rich foods that trigger the heartburn. The
person might avoid coffee, tea or other beverages with caffeine
that might trigger the symptoms of heartburn. The person might
drink carbonated drinks before eating that will produce a burp
to bring about relief. Tight fitting clothes might produce the
heartburn so the person can dress appropriately to avoid the
symptoms of heartburn. Heartburn might be caused by acid moving
from the stomach to the esophagus so the person might elevate
the head of the bed they sleep on every night. Alcohol might be
the cause, and a person might avoid consuming alcohol to avoid
discomfort.
